Rubbermaid Storage Boxes

If your closets and your attic are a disaster and you don’t have places to put your things away properly, the first thing you need to do is buy a few Rubbermaid storage boxes.

These boxes make easy work of sorting and storing just about anything!

Rubbermaid Storage Boxes to Organize your Closet

To organize your closets, your first step is to pull everything out of the closet. Make piles of the things as you remove them. The piles should be as follows:

  • Too small, out of style, or haven’t used it in six months all goes in one pile to get rid of.
  • Winter wear goes in a separate pile
  • Summer wear goes into the third pile

Depending on the season, select either winter or summer clothing to stock your closet. Hang currently useable clothing up but separate pants from shirts. Place belts and scarves in their own shoe box sized Rubbermaid storage boxes. The boxes will fit beautifully on your overhead shelf. You may want to invest in one or two of the cabinets with cubbies to neatly store shoes. If you use ties or scarves often you may want to pick up one of the Rubbermaid tie organizer. It will hold folded scarves or ties, and can be attached to the side or back wall of your closet so you can get to them easily. Once this task is completed, you will know where everything belongs in your closet, saving you time and frustration.

Using Rubbermaid Storage Boxed to Organize your Attic

If you have an attic in your home, there is a good chance that you have searched for things you know you have but couldn’t find. You may have gone out and bought another of the same item because you really needed it but could locate it in your attic. This means it is certainly time to reorganize your attic.

Move everything in your attic to one side. Set yourself up to succeed by placing a box of trash bags and several of the larger Rubbermaid storage boxes between your empty corner and the pile to be sorted. As you sort your things, rid yourself of things you don’t plan to use, broken items, out of date clothing, anything you can do without, and put it by the trash bags. As you get a decent sized heap there, bag them up.

Stay Clutter Free With Rubbermaid Storage Boxes

As you run across like items such as kitchen, bathroom, off season clothing, and groups of collectible items; place them in the large storage boxes. You can use a permanent marker on the outside of the container if you use colored boxes or simply slip an index card in the end of the box if you are using the transparent boxes that are marked with a general list of the type of articles enclosed.

Once everything is sorted and your Rubbermaid storage boxes are clearly marked, start packing your Rubbermaid storage boxes in the available end of your attic, with the labels facing out so you can easily see what the containers have in them. Remove the trash piles in garbage bags and your attic is organized.

Now, thanks to the Rubbermaid storage boxes, the next time you need to find something you will save yourself much time and aggravation.
